Transparency for the islands that run on tourism

MV Hotels Watch is an independent publication tracking the money, the people and the developments behind the Maldives tourism sector.

Mission

Why this exists

Tourism is the engine of the Maldivian economy, yet the people who power it — and the money meant to reach them — often go unseen.

This site brings that into the open. We compile the monthly service charge each resort distributes, summarise the news that shapes the industry, maintain a directory of properties, surface careers, and give workers a confidential way to be heard. The aim is simple: a clearer, fairer picture of the sector, for the workers within it and the public it serves.

Methodology

How we compile the data

For the site owner

Connecting the forms (5 minutes)

The Careers and Workers’ Voice forms run in demo mode until you connect a free form endpoint — no server needed:

For Workers’ Voice, prefer an endpoint that emails you and doesn’t log IP addresses, to protect anonymous sources.

Disclaimer

Independence & accuracy

MV Hotels Watch is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Ministry of Tourism, the Labour Relations Authority, or any resort, hotel or guesthouse named on this site.

Service-charge figures and worker reports are compiled from public sources and voluntary submissions and are provided in good faith for general information. They may be incomplete or vary from a property’s official records, and should be treated as indicative rather than definitive.

Submissions are reviewed and, where relevant, the named party is given an opportunity to respond before publication. Nothing here is legal advice. To raise a formal service-charge complaint, contact the Labour Relations Authority.

Corrections: email editor@mvhotelswatch.com and we’ll review promptly.
